Uppunda Durgaparameshwari Temple is dedicated to Goddess
Durga. The shrine is located close to National Highway 66 and is around 32 from
Kundapur and around 66 km from Udupi in Karnataka. Uppunda Temple is on the banks of Sumana
River.
As per Skanda Purana, Matanga Rishi visited the place and
worshipped Goddess Durga here. The goddess worshipped here is also considered
as a sister of Kollur Mookambika Devi. Rituals followed at Uppunda Temple and Mookambika are quite similar.
The deity is also referred as Shanthika Durgaparameshwari. A golden Sri Chakra is worshipped here.

Parashurama Kshethra - a concept of seven temple popular in the region.
The subsidiary deities worshipped in the temple include
Ganesha, Subrahmanya, Nagas, Shiva and Sri Krishna and Narasimha.

Ramnavami, Saura Ugadi, Prathishta Varadhanthi of the deity in Chaitra Shukla
Navami, Naga Panchami, special pujas in Simha Masa, Sri Krishna Jayanti,
Special Pujas in bhadrapad month, Ganesh Chaturthi, Kedara Vrata, Navratri, Vijayadasami,
Dhanuramasa puja, Champa Sashti and Shivratri.
