Ganesh Chaturthi Festival at Ranthambore Ganesh Temple

Ranthambore Ganesh Temple is dedicated to Trinetra Ganesha and is located in the fortress of Ranthambore around 12 km from Sawai Madhopur. The annual Ganesh Chaturthi festival attracts nearly 100,000 devotees to the shrine located in the world famous Ranthambore National Park. In 2024, Ganesh Chaturthi Festival at Ranthambore Ganesh Temple is from September 7 to September 9.



The shrine is located in the fort deep inside Ranthambore National Park. The huge murti of Ganesha is red in color. As it has a third eye on the forehead the murti is known as Trinetra Ganesha. The murti is flanked by Ridhi and Siddhi.

The temple celebrates three days of Ganesh Chaturthi with great fervor. A replica of the murti worshipped is made for the occasion. On the final day of Ganesh Chaturthi, the replica of Ganesha murti is taken out and finally submerged in a nearby pond. This year Ganeshotsav at Sawai Madhopur are on September 7, September 8 and September 9.

The Ganesh Chaturthi festival starts early morning with the rituals of holy shower to the murti. This is followed by shringar and aarti.
