Telugu Ashada Month 2022 – Ashada Masam 2022 in Telugu Calendar in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana

Ashada Masam is the fourth month in a traditional Hindu Telugu calendar followed in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Telugu Ashada Month 2022 is from June 30 to July 28. Some of the auspicious days of the masa include Guru Purnima, the beginning of Chaturmas Vrat and Shayani Ekadasi.

Fears About Ashada Month 

Some people think that Ashada month is bad but this is not true.

There is a tradition among certain communities in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka in which newly married couple does not stay together in Ashada Masam. There are also many who believe that the daughter-in-law and the mother-in-law should not stay together in this month. There is no scripture backing to this it is purely regional and followed by some communities.

Telugu Ashada Masa Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha

Ashada Masam Telugu calendar 2022 Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of moon) is from June 30 to July 13, 2022.
Telugu Ashada Masam 2022 Krishna Paksha (waning phase of moon) is from July 14 to July 28, 2022.

Ekadasi Fasting Dates in Ashada Masam are:

Devshayani Ekadasi – July 10
Kamika Ekadasi –  July 24

Pradosh – July 11
Pradosh –  July 25

Sankashti Chaturthi monthly fasting dedicated to Lord Ganesh is in Ashada Mahina is on July 16 – Moonrise is at 9:56 PM  – Indian standard time.

Purnima in Telugu Ashada Masam
  • Ashada Purnima or Full moon day is on  July 13, 2022.
  • The Purnima Vrat is marked on July 13.
  • The Purnima begins at 4:01 AM on July 13 and ends at 12:07 AM on July 14. 
  • Vyasa and Guru Purnima Vrat are observed on July 13. 
  • Shirdi Utsav is on July 14. 
Amavasya in Telugu Ashada Masam
Ashada Amavasya or No moon day is on July 28.
  • The Amavasi begins at 9:12 PM on July 27 and ends at 11:25 PM on July 28, 2022.
The dates of important festivals and auspicious days in Telugu Ashada Masam are:
Devshayani Ekadashi - July 10
Chaturmas Vrat begins – July 11
Gopadma Vrata begins – July 11
Chukkala Amavasya and Gauri Vratam –  July 28

Please note that Ashada month 2022 in traditional Hindu calendar followed in North India is from June 15 to July 13.

Ashada Month in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka is similar to the Telugu Calendar.
