Anang Trayodasi Vrata is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is observed in the Chaitra month in Maharashtra and Gujarat . Anang Trayodashi 2025 date is April 10. It is observed on the 13th day of the Shukla Paksha of Chaitra Month in traditional calendar followed in Maharashtra and Gujarat . The importance of the Vrat is mentioned in the Saura Purana and Garuda Purana.
As per Saura Purana this observance is also held in the month of Jyeshta.
Please note – in North India , the Anang Trayodashi is observed during on 13th day of Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of moon) in Margashirsh Month this is on December 2, 2025.
Anang Trayodashi Vrat is observed for a year – on all the 13th day of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon) in a month. It is believed that observing the Vrat will help in attaining prosperity, health, wealth and good fortune.
Apart from Lord Shiva, Kamdev and Rati are also worshipped on the day. The observance includes offering flowers and fruits to Lord Shiva and the prescribed 16-step Hindu puja and worship.
As per Saura Purana, the Anang Trayodashi Vrata is observed in honor of Shiva for acquiring virtue, great fortune, wealth, and for the destruction of sins. This vrata is to be performed for a year from Margashirsha. In Jyeshtha, the toothbrush is that of plaksha wood, food is shringodaka of cow, the deity is Pashupati, and staying near the deity gives the result of donating a thousand cows.
