Sarbasammat Ekadashi in Odisha

Sarbasammat Ekadasi is observed on the 11th day (Ekadashi) during the waxing phase of moon (Shukla Paksha or bright phase) in Phalgun month (February – March). Sarbasammat Ekadashi 2026 date is January 27. The day of great significance in Lord Vishnu and Lord Jagannath Temples in Orissa.

As the Ekadasi falls on a Thursday it is considered highly auspicious. Special prayers and rituals are held in Jagannath Temples.

Fasting on the day and keeping vigil at night is performed by many Hindu devotees. The day after Sarbasammat Ekadashi is the Phalgun Shukla Paksha Dwadashi and it is considered auspicious by many.

The Ekadasi during Phalgun Shukla Paksha is popularly known as Amalaki Ekadasi.
