Guha Sashti – Kartik Guha Shashti

Guha Sashti is observed on the sixth day of the waxing phase of moon, or Shukla Paksha, of Margashirsh month (November – December). Guha Sashti 2025 date is November 26. Sashti or the sixth day during the fortnight of a Hindu calendar is generally dedicated to Lord Kartikeya. Guha is one among the numerous names of Lord Kartik, the son of Lord Shiva.

Lord Kartik, also known as Lord Muruga, is popularly worshipped in South India. Lord Kartik is the most handsome god and is the commander of the army of the Devas.

Pujas and rituals dedicated to Lord Kartik are observed on the day especially in North India. The day is observed as Champa Shashti in Maharashtra.
