Kritimanimalai Tamil Part III with 400 compositions of Sri Muthuswami Dikshitar, authored by Late Sri Rangaramanuja Ayyangar, have been adapted into English by Padma Varadan – Sri Rangaramanuja Ayyangar’ daughter and disciple. Kritimanimalai in Tamil Language is a series which includes 700 compositions of the Saint Tyagaraja, 400 compositions of Muthuswamy Dikshitar, 380 songs of Syama Sastri, Kshetragna and others. This unparalled enormous compilation of Carnatic music is a reference compendium.
Padma Varadan and Vipanci Charitable Trust are in the process of the English Adaptation of Kritimanimalai and they have already released the English adaptation of Tyagaraja’s compositions in two volumes.
Now, they have released the English Adaptation of the available compositions of Muthuswami Dikshitar.
English Adaptation of Kritimanimalai Tamil Part III with 400 compositions of Sri Muthuswami Dikshitar includes lyrics in English and Sanskrit, free translation, raga lakshanam, detailed notation with tempo and tala markings, elaborate gamaka signs and sahityam syllables with diacritical marks.
The book also contains translations of articles of Carnatic Musicians and experts in the field.
