Sumiran – Rare Bhajans of Lata Mangeshkar to Release Soon

Sumiran is a 17-year-old private recording done by Lata Mangeshkar for a temple and was unearthed recently. The holy shlokas were found accidentally and is in near perfect condition. (link)


Composed by Latajis brother Hridaynath Mangeshkar, the album has 23 popular Sanksrit sholkas (hymns) dedicated to Lord Shiva, Goddesses Durga, Saraswati, Lord Rama and other deities in Hindu pantheon. The album is released by Sa Re Ga Ma and is priced at Rs 225.

Lata Mangeshkar’s Meera Bhajans, rendition of the Bhagavad Gita and albums like Ram ratan dhan payo and Chala vahi des are hugely popular with Hindus.
