Ashtakavarga in Hindu Astrology

In Hindu astrology, Ashtakavarga means a group of eight objects and it deals with the transit of planets. In this system, a planet is said to contribute a benefic point, called bindu, to the different houses. It produces auspicious results while transiting the planets.

In the Ashtakavarga system, the position of the transiting planet is studied not only from the natal moon but also from the other planets. The ascendant, or lagna, rising is also taken into account.

In the Ashtakavarga system of astrology, both astrological and numerological factors are considered together.
