In the Bhagavata Purana (10.24), Krishna delivers what can only be described as the first-ever recorded TED talk on environmental science and self-reliance. He argues that Govardhan Hill provides grass for cattle, cattle provide sustenance for people, and this entire ecosystem doesn't need divine intervention from some weather god sitting on his cloud throne.
