Rang Panchami Holi festival is observed on the fifth day (Panchami) during the waning phase of moon in Phalgun month (February – March). Rang Panchami 2026 date is March 8. The corresponding period in North Indian calendar is the fifth day during Chaitra Krishna paksha.
The festival is a continuation of the Holi festival and is observed mainly in rural areas in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and some parts of North India . The festival is observed five days after Holi Dhuleti.
Rang Panchami is essentially a rural festival. Special significance is given to the festival by the farming community.
