Madayil Kottam temple is located at Ezhome - Narikode in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Chamundi, Vishnumoorthi, Thaiparadevatha and numerous other deities. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for two days in Malayalam Makara Masam – Makaram 18 to Makaram 19 (Feb 1 and Feb 2).
Important theyyams that can be witnessed at Madayil Kottam temple are Vettakkorumakan theyyam, Vishnumoorthi theyyam, Madayil Chamundi,
Manikundan theyyam, Manjalamma theyyam and Thaiparadevatha theyyam.
This is a small shrine with a chathura sreekovil for the
main deity. The roof of the shrine is traditionally decorated. There are other
smaller sreekovils and raised platforms for other deities. Certain deities are
worshipped under trees. Sankranti in a Malayalam month is of great importance.
