Kadangod Kottaram Vathukal temple is located at Kadangod near Cheruvathur in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Vishnumorthi and other related deities worshipped in kavu in the region. The annual theyyam – kaliyattam festival in the temple is held for two days in Malayalam Thula Masam – Thulam 24 to Thulam 25 (November 10 and November 11).
The important theyyams that are part of the annual kaliyattam – thira festival at Kadangod Kottaram Vathukal temple are Raktha Chamundi, Uchoolikkadavathu Bhagavathy and Vishnumoorthi theyyam (Theechamundi).
The temple has a main deerkha chathura sreekovil for the deities.
Other deities are worshipped in square platforms and under trees. Yearly Vishu
and monthly Sankranti days are important in the temple. This is a small
privately maintained temple.
