Pilathara Dhermal Tharavadu Sree Puthiya Bhagavathi temple is located at Pilathara in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Puthiya Bhagavathy. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for two days in Malayalam Makara Masam – Makaram 4 and Makaram 5 (January 18 to Jan 19).
Important theyyams that can be witnessed at Pilathara Dhermal Tharavadu Sree Puthiya Bhagavathi temple are Puthiya Bhagavathy theyyam, Vayanattu Kulavan theyyam, Vishnumoorthi theyyam, Gulikan theyyam, Kundoor Chamundi theyyam, Kurathi theyyam, Kandanarkelan theyyam and Kudiveeran theyyam.
The temple has a small chathura sreekovil with a
traditionally decorated roof. Other deities are worshipped on smaller sanctums
and on raised for square platforms. Some deities are given a place under trees.
Sankranti in every month is of significance and many important rituals are
performed on the day. Vishu on Medam 1 is an important festival here.
