Palayi Sree Ganapathiyar temple is located at Palayi near Nileshwar in Kasaragod district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Bhagavan Maha Vishnu, Ganapathi and Sasthavu. This is a traditional Kerala style temple with a main sreekovil or sanctum for the main deity. Upadevatas (Ganesha and Sastha) who are as important as the main deity of the temple has separate small chathura sreekovils (square sanctums).
This is a privately maintained temple and belongs to the Kamballur Kottayil Tharavadu. The shrine is only open during the morning hours from 5:30 AM to 9:00 AM.
Shiva and Bhagavathi are the other
deities worshipped in the temple.
Vishu, Onam, Vinayaka Chaturthi in Chinga
Masam is of great importance in the temple. The mandala kalam (November 16 to
December 27) is of great importance in the temple. Special pujas, rituals and
prayers are performed during the Vrischika Masam.
The temple maintains its simplicity and
piety. The environment is spiritually uplifting and serene.
