Ummachi Theyyam – Yogyar Nambidi Theyyam kolam are performed together and is combination of male and female theyyam. As per information Ummachi Theyyam is that a Muslim woman and Yogyar Nambidi is that of a male caretaker (kariyasthan). As per Ummachi Theyyam – Yogyar Nambidi Theyyam story, a Muslim woman worked at Nileshwaram Kovilakam. One day women were dehusking and pounding rice in a traditional Ural for making naivedya in the kavu or temple. A Muslim woman who was working there took a handful for rice and put in her mouth. Supervisor Yogyar Nambidi got angry at this behavior and hit the woman with an ulakka or rice pounding stick. The woman died immediately. After her death there were several inauspicious incidents in the region. The Muslim woman was honored and given a place of worship and a theyyam was performed to keep her happy. She became Ummachi theyyam. Yogyar Nambidi met with untimely death and he too was given a theyyam.
The same person appears as both Ummachi Theyyam and Yogyar
Nambidi Theyyam. The theyya kolam begins its performance as Yogyar Nambidi and
later turns into a Muslim woman by wearing a parda. She then enacts the
pounding of rice.
This theyyam is annually performed on Medam 9 (April 22 or April 23) at Madikkayi Kakkattu Koloth in Kasaragod.

- മര്മ്മനത്തില്‍ അടിയേറ്റ ഉമ്മച്ചി മരിച്ചു വീണു.
- തുടര്ന്ന് ദുര്‍ നിമിത്തമുണ്ടാകുകയും ഈ മുസ്ലിം സ്ത്രീ പിന്നീട് ഉമ്മച്ചി തെയ്യമായും കാര്യസ്ഥന്‍ യോഗ്യാര്‍ നമ്പടിയും തെയ്യമായി പുനര്ജ്നിച്ചു എന്നാണു ഐതിഹ്യം.
- പൂക്കട്ടി മുടിയും ദേഹത്ത് അരിചാന്തും അണിഞ്ഞു എത്തുന്ന യോഗിയാര്‍ നമ്പടി തെയ്യം ആട്ടത്തിനോടുവില്‍ പര്ദ്ദു ധരിച്ചു ഉമ്മച്ചി തെയ്യമായി മാറും.
- മുഖം മറച്ചു കൊണ്ട് ഈ തെയ്യം നെല്ലു കുത്തുന്ന അഭിനയവും മാപ്പിള മൊഴിയിലുള്ള ഉരിയാട്ടവും ശ്രദ്ദേയമാണ്‌.
- കാസര്ഗോിഡ്‌ ജില്ലയില്‍ മടിക്കൈ കക്കാട്ട് കൂലോത്ത് മേടം ഒമ്പതിനാണ് ഉമ്മച്ചി തെയ്യം കെട്ടിയാടുന്നത്‌.
