Kidangoor Maha Ganapathy temple is located at Kidangoor in Kottayam district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Ganesha or Ganapathi. The annual Vinayaka Chaturthi festival in Malayalam Chingamasam (August – September) is an important occasion in the shrine. Various pujas and rituals including Ganapathi homam and annadanam are part of the festival.
The temple has a square sanctum sanctorum facing east with a chuttambalam, namaskara mandapam and shrines of upa devatas. The walls of the chuttambalam have sculptures of various forms of Ganesha. The upa devatas worshipped in the shrine are Goddess Bhadra, Goddess Durga, Navagraha and Nagas.
Chathurthi (fourth day of a fortnight) is an important day in month in the temple.
The shrine performs various pujas for removing all kinds of
obstacles including Ganapathy homam, mukkutti pushpanjali, kombu samarpanam, Karuka
offering and
sarva aishwarya pooja. The main offerings in the temple are Appam, Ada, Modakam
and Coconut. Vahana puja is conducted regularly at the shrine.
Kidangoor Maha Ganapathy Temple History
This temple was constructed by Sri.P K Parameswaran Nair, who was a family member of Madathil Veedu of Pirayar. He used to take his food only after taking the theertham from the Pazhavangadi Sree Mahaganapathy Temple. He got a dream vision that Sri Maha Ganapathy wishes to have a temple in Kidangoor. So according to the vision, he built a temple in his hometown.

Morning darshan and puja time is from 5:00 AM to 11.00 AM.
Evening darshan and puja time is from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
