Kumarakom Thekkumkara Ardhanariswara Temple is located at Kumarakom in Kottayam district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Ardhanariswara form of Shiva – half man half woman. The darshanam of Thekkumkara Ardhanariswara is towards west.
This is a beautiful Kerala style traditional Kerala style temple with two sreekovils and two kodimaram. The shrine has namaskara mandapam, chuttambalam and small shrines of upa devatas.
The annual festival in the temple is famous for Thudi Thullal and Kurathiyattam. Caparisoned elephants, melam, tantric pujas and rituals (Shaiva and Shakta) are part of the annual festival.
The shrine also observes Mahashivratri, Navratri and Thrikarthika festival.
