Kundara Indilayappan Temple – Festival

Kundara Indilayappan temple is located at Kundara in Kollam district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu. The annual festival in the temple is held in Kumbha Masam. Maha Shivratri is another important festival here. The annual festival begins on the Rohini nakshatra day in Kumbha Masam (February – March).

This is a traditional Kerala style temple with a chuttambalam, kodimaram (flag pole or dwajasthambam), nalambalam and namaskara mandapam. The shrine has a chathura sreekovil. The upa devatas in the temple include Subrahmanian.

The annual festival is famous for ezhunnallathu, procession, kuthira, and melam.

The shrine holds Bhagavatha Sapthaha Yajnam.
