Chooralmala Shiva Temple – Festival

Chooralmala Shiva Temple, also known as Chooralmala Shivashekthram, is an ancient shrine located in a scenic backdrop at Chooralmala in Wayanad district, Kerala. This is a shrine of Mahadeva Shiva. The annual Shivratri festival (last week of February or first fortnight of March (Malayalam Kumbha Masam) is an important occasion at Chooralmala temple.

This is small beautiful temple with a chathura sreekovil – square sanctum sanctorum. There are no major structures here. There is an upa devata worshipped here. Iruvazhinji River flows nearby.

The Shivratri festival is observed with various types of abhishekam, dhara, pujas and rituals.

Thrikarthika is an important occasion in the temple.
