Thaliyil Mahadeva Temple Kottayam - Fort - Festival

Thaliyil Mahadeva Temple is located on the Kottayam – Kumarakom road at Thazhathangady in Kottayam district, Kerala. The 10-day temple festival begins on Medam 1 with kodiyettam.

Shiva is worshipped in circular sreekovil (vatta sreekovil). Shiva faces west in the temple. This was the main temple of Thekkumkoor king. As there was a fort around in the temple in ancient times the temple was also known as Thaliyakotta.

The Upa Devatas worshipped in the temple are Ganapathy, Sastha, Subrahmanya, Naga and Rakshas.
