Puthukad Kurumalikavu Bhagavathi Temple - Information - Gods Worshipped - Festival

Kurumalikavu Bhagavathi temple is located in Puthukad Village on the Thrissur – Chalakudy road near Pudukad center in Thrissur district, Kerala.  The annual temple festival is observed on Bharani nakshatra in Kumbham month.

Kuruti and Chanthattam are observed on Makara Chowa (January third week Tuesday).

The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali and is on the banks of Kurumali Puzha. It is believed that the Goddess in the temple is the sister of Kodungallur Bhagavathy.

The murti in the temple is carved out of wood (Dharu Vigraham) and is nearly 6 feet tall. The deity faces east.

The Upa Devatas in the temple are Rakshas, Dambati,  Brahma Rakshas and Pattaliswami (Marvancheri Pattali).

In olden times the temple used to take Sankadapara to house of those people who had small pox or other poxes.
