Mahathobhara Chintamani Shree Laxminarasimha Temple at Kade Shivalaya in Bantwal in Karnataka

Mahathobhara Chintamani Shree Laxminarasimha Temple is located on the banks of Netravati River at Kade Shivalaya village in Bantwal in Karnataka. This ancient temple is dedicated to Lakshmi Narasimha Avatar of Bhagavan Vishnu. The shrine is around 30 km east Mangalore.



King Veerabahu, son of an emperor Lokadithya, who was administering the region of Mangalapura, built the temple.

Apart from Narasimha murti, the temple also has murtis of Ganesha and Nagas. Trishul, swords and other holy items are displayed in the shrine.



The most important festivals in the temple are Naga Panchami. rathamana Ekadashi, 3. Niraha Sankramana – Yajnopaveeta, Sri Krishna Jayanti, Vinayaka Chaturthi, Navratri, Ashwin Purnima, Deepavali festival, Laksha Deepothsava in Kartik month, Utthaana Dwaadashi - Tulasi Pooja, Subrahmanya Sashti, Dhanupooja in Dhanu maasa, Makara Sankramana Utsava and Ratha Saptami Utsava.
