In United States, the timing is from 18:04 to 21:14 hrs on August 5, 2009.
In Europe, the timing is from 23:04 hrs on August 5, 2009 to 03:14 on August 6.During the partial eclipse only a shadow of earth falls on the moon and it is not visible to the human eye.
Most of the Hindu traditional calendars are calling Chandra Grahan on August 6, 2009 as Madhya Chhaya Chandra Grahan. It is a shallow penumbral eclipse and is not visible to the naked eye. Hindus need not follow any rules or rituals during this Chandra Grahan.
Pregnant women need not worry about this Grahan and there is no need to follow any rituals or rules.

You don't need to follow any niyama only the shadow of earth falls on moon and it is not visible. In Chennai and all places the time given is 04:34 early morning to 07:44 morning

The timing in India is from 04:34 to 07:44 early morning of August 6. You don't need to worry about this grahan and you don't need follow any niyamas or rituals. Only a shadow of earth falls on the moon and it is not visible to the naked eye.

Hi- I am 18 weeks pregnant. I live in Boston, MA. I read that, there is lunar eclipse on Aug6th but in United States and South America, it is visible on the evening of August 5, 2009 and the timing is from 18:04 to 21:14 hrs on August 5, 2009.
