Goddess Renuka is associated with the Goddess Yellamma worship in Karnataka and parts of Andhra Pradesh,
Legend has it that Renuka was the wife of Sage Jamadagni and he suspected her of infidelity and ordered Parashurama to behead her. Lord Parashurama obeyed his father and when Sage Jamadagni wanted to reward his son, Lord Parashurama asked him to bring back his mother. Thus Renuka, the mother of Lord Parashurama, was brought back to life.
This story found numerous interpretations in rural culture and Renuka is believed to be an incarnation of Goddess Durga and in this incarnation she represented the fate of many rural women who were falsely accused of infidelity or other crimes.
Goddess Renuka performs the role of Mother Goddess and is responsible for the welfare of her devotees, for curing diseases and protecting the cattle. A large number of Goddesses worshipped in rural culture are forms of Goddess Durga. She is given different rural names and characteristics but her role remains the same that of the Mother Goddess.

everything is fine but what I couldn't believe is, being a Sage and having profound wisdom of life how come Jamadagni suspected his own wife of infidelity & order his son to behead his own mother?? In the relationships point-of-view it looks a little ugly
Priya Ramaraobobby,
There lies the answer in your question.
Being a 'SAGE', not just a sage, he is one among the saptharihis. Who is a maha gnaani.Who has nothing to suspect and he is a parma shaantha swarupi, an embodiment of peace looks like he did somthing which he is not supposed to do....
and....
Parasuraama who is incarnation, and one among the dashavathaaras is the one who looks like he has done something that he is not supposed to do , no matter what. Killing his own mother.. looks like a brutal act.. just to obey his father.
and...
sakshath PARABRAHMA swaroopa 'SRI RENUKA MATHA' is the embodiment of the supreme shakthi underwent this...and after that thing happened she took her own head into her hands and she danced indicating that she is immortal.
Do analysis on this thing more and more and more.. you might probably get an answer. But, please do not come to a conclusion on this yet.. do ponder on what it is.. how could such thing happen... contemplate on it.. and keep thinking.. and you might realize and the whole episode is to make you think more about the paremeswari.. and make you realise..
Thank you.
