Located opposite K.R. Market in Kalasipalya, Bengaluru, the main idol at the Kote Sri Anjaneya Swamy temple is uniquely carved out of a single rock with a natural crown formation. The temple is believed to have a history of around 200 years.
Later, during the time of the renowned local ruler Sri
Kempegowda, the temple was renovated. As it is situated near the fort area, it
came to be known as Kote (Fort) Anjaneyaswamy Temple.
The temple houses a Sudarshana Chakra, and it is believed
that receiving its blessings helps in the removal of all sins.
Performing Panchamruta Abhisheka and offering Tulasi at the temple is believed to grant all auspicious benefits.
Special pujas are conducted every Saturday, particularly
during the Saturdays of the Shravan month. Festivals such as Hanuman Jayanti
and Sri Rama Navami are celebrated grandly. On Akshaya Tritiya, the Brahma
Rathotsava (chariot festival) is also held.
Devotees offer butter decorations, vada garlands, Tulasi
garlands, and betel leaf garlands to the deity.
A special highlight is that during the famous Bengaluru Karaga, the Karaga deity visits this temple and receives ritual worship.
