Shyamala Shodasha Nama Stotram - Prosperity - Peace - Good Luck

Shyamala Shodasha Nama Stotram is chanted to achieve peace, prosperity and good luck in life. Shyamala or Matangi represents the attraction power (Akarshana Shakti) of Lalitha Parameswari. As the bearer of the royal insignia for the Divine Mother Rajarajeshwari, she is called Mudrini, and she is known as Mantrini, the Prime Minister of Lalitambika’s empire. According to the principles of Srividya, it is believed that the worship of Lalita cannot be fruitful without the grace of Shyamala.

To seek the grace of the Prime Minister (Mantrini), chant the sixteen names of Shyamala:

  2. Shyama – The dark-complexioned goddess.

  3. Shyamala – The one who bestows grace.

  6. Sachiveshani – The goddess of all ministers.

  7. Pradhaneshi – The supreme chief.

  8. Shukapriya – The lover of parrots.

  9. Veenavati – The one who holds the Veena.

  10. Vainiki – The expert player of the Veena.

  11. Mudrini – The keeper of the royal signet/seal.

  12. Priyakapriya – The lover of Priyaka flowers.

  13. Nipapriya – The lover of Nipa flowers.

  14. Kadambeshi – The goddess of the Kadamba forest.

  15. Kadamba-vana-vasini – She who dwells in the Kadamba forest.

  16. Sadamada – She who is eternally intoxicated (with divine bliss).

The Phala-Shruti (Benefit): "O Agastya (Kumbhaja)! If a person praises the Prime Minister (Sachiveshani) with these sixteen names even once, the three worlds shall undoubtedly come under their influence."
