During the Pandavas' exile (Vanavasa), several significant events occurred here:

Origin of the Name "Todikana"

Years later, a tribal woman named Malli accidentally struck a stone while cutting grass, causing it to bleed. When she reported this to Sage Kanva, he realized through divine vision that it was the sacred Shiva Lingam. The sage then established the temple at his ashram site, naming the deity "Shri Mallikarjuna" after Malli and Arjuna.
