Ayyam Parava Theyyam is a rare theyyam performed during the annual theyyam thira kaliyattam period in Kannur and Kasaragod districts of North Kerala. As per information, she is a ferocious form of Mother Goddess Bhagavathy. Ayyam Parava theyyam story suggests that she is the daughter of Mahadeva Shiva. She is the upasana murti of people who perform black magic and sorcerers.
Ayyam Parava Theyyam is performed at night and she is a friend of Vishnumoorthi theyyam. She performs ferocious actions and is known to accept sacrifices of roosters.
This theyyam is performed annually at Pattuva Tharavadu Karivellur
and at Kooveri Pullayikkodi Tharavadu.
