Arimpur Kootale Mahavishnu Temple – Festival

Arimpur Kootale Mahavishnu temple, also known as Arimbur Koottala Vishnu temple, is located at Parakkad – Arimpur (Arimboor) in Thrissur district, Kerala. The annual festival in the temple begins on Thiruvonam nakshatra day in Meda Masam (April – May).

This is a traditional east facing Vishnu temple with a chathura sreekovil. There temple has upa devata shrines, namaskara mandapam, pond and chuttambalam.

The annual festival in the temple involves participation of five caparisoned elephants, panchavadyam and traditional performing art forms of temples of Kerala.

Vaishna pujas and rituals including niramala, abhishekam, kalasham and various homams are part of the annual festival.

The temple also observes Vishu, Thiruvonam and Mandala Makaravilakku kalam.

The annual pratishta festival in the temple is held in Malayalam Meda Masam (May - June).
