Idimuzhikkal Thiruvangattu Shiva Temple – Festival

Idimuzhikkal Thiruvangattu Shiva Temple, also known as Thiruvangattu Mahashiva Kshetram, is located at Idimuzhikkal Kakkanchery – Chelambra in Malappuram district, Kerala. The main deity worshipped in the temple is Shiva.

A swayambhu Shivling is worshipped in the temple. There is also a Ganga Devi temple here.

The temple is located amidst sylvan surroundings.

The popular belief is that the temple was consecrated by Parashurama.

There is a perennial water source atop a rock here. It is considered to be the Holy Ganga River.

The annual pratishta festival in the temple is held in Malayalam Edava Masam (May - June).
