Bala Ganapathy temple is located at Kodungallur in Thrissur district, Kerala. The temple has the biggest vigraham of Ganesha in Kerala. The murti of Ganapati is 6 feet tall including the peedom. The shrine is also known as Balaganeshapuram temple.
The darshanam of the temple is towards north. There are no upa devatas in the temple. The main festival observed in the temple is Vinayaka Chaturthi in Chingam month.
It is believed that the ancient name of the temple was Balakrideshwaram.
