Vaikom Pattassery Bhagavathi Temple – Festival

Vaikom Pattassery Bhagavathi temple, also known as Pattasseri Khandakarna temple, is located at Pallipurathussery on Vaikom - T.V puram road near Vaikom in Kottayam district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy or Devi. Pathamudayam festival on April 23 is an important festival in the temple. Thiruvathira in Dhanu Masam is the most important annual festival. Story Of Shiva Revealing Advaita To Sage Vasugupta

The Advaita School of spiritual philosophy was founded in Kashmir by Sage Vasugupta in the last quarter of the eight century CE. It is said that he was an ardent devotee of Shiva Bhagavan and was very keen to learn the Shaiva mode of spiritual practice.
