Vellarikundu Malom Koolom Bhagavathy Kavu Temple – Theyyam Thira Kaliyattam Festival - മുക്രിപ്പോക്കറും പെരിയാട്ട് കണ്ടരും
Vellarikundu Malom Koolom Bhagavathy Kavu temple is located at Malom near Vellarikundu in Kasaragod district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi and other deities that are worshipped in tharavadu, sacred places and kavu in Kasaragod region. The annual theyyam kaliyattam thira festival in the temple is held for two days in Malayalam Makara Masam – Makaram 27 to Makaram 28 (February 10 to February 11). The theyyam festival here is famous for two rare theyyams - മുക്രിപ്പോക്കറും പെരിയാട്ട് കണ്ടരും

Bhagavathy Kavu temple temple are Periyattu Kandar, Mukri Pokkar, Kurathi,
Chamundeshwari, Dhandayangahanathu Bhagavathy theyyam, Vishnumoorthi theyyam, Mandalathu
Chamundi, Padarkulangara Bhagavathy theyyam and Kurathi theyyam.
The temple has square sanctum sanctorum – chathura sreekovil
(s) for main deities. Other deities popularly worshipped in Kavu and temples in
Kasaragod region are also worshipped in the temple in small sreekovils, under
trees and on square platforms. Sankranti and Vishu are important days in the
temple.
അപൂര്‍വ തെയ്യങ്ങളായ മുക്രിപ്പോക്കറും പെരിയാട്ട് കണ്ടരും ഉള്‍പ്പെടെ 13 തെയ്യങ്ങള്‍മാലോം കൂലോത്ത് ഭഗവതിക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ കെട്ടിയാപെടുന്നത്. നാട്ടാചാരം ചൊല്ലി തെയ്യങ്ങള്‍ അണിപിരിയുന്നതിന് സാക്ഷ്യം വഹിക്കുന്നത് നൂറുകണക്കിനാളുകളാണ്.
പുലര്‍ച്ചെയാണ്യി പടവീരനായ പെരിയാട്ട് കണ്ടരുടെ തെയ്യം കെട്ടിയാടുന്നത് നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകളുടെ പഴക്കമുള്ള കൂലോത്തെ സര്‍വാധികാരിയായ കാര്യക്കാരനായിരുന്നു പെരിയാട്ട് കണ്ടര്‍. പൊനംകൊത്തി നെല്ലുവിളയിക്കുന്നതിനിടയില്‍ കണ്ടര്‍ കാട്ടുതീയില്‍പ്പെട്ട് മരിച്ചെന്നാണ് വിശ്വാസം. കൂലോത്തെ തെയ്യങ്ങള്‍ക്കൊപ്പം ഇടംനേടിയ കണ്ടര്‍ തെയ്യമായി.
കുറത്തി, ചാമുണ്ഡേശ്വരി, വിഷ്ണുമൂര്‍ത്തി, പാടാര്‍കുളങ്ങര ഭഗവതി, ദണ്ഡ്യങ്ങാനത്തു ഭഗവതി തെയ്യങ്ങള്‍ക്കു പിന്നാലെ മണ്ഡലത്ത് ചാമുണ്ഡിയും മുക്രിപ്പോക്കറും കളിയാട്ടക്കളത്തിലെത്തും
ക്ഷേത്രമുറ്റത്തെ നിസ്‌കാരത്തറയില്‍ അസര്‍ നമസ്‌കാരം. വാളുംപരിചയുമേന്തി പുറപ്പാട്. മുക്രിപ്പോക്കറുടെ വരവ് ഇങ്ങനെയാണ്.
ബാലിക്കടക്കത്ത് കുടുംബത്തിന്റെ വകയായ കൂലോത്തെ വിശാലമായ കൃഷിയിടത്തിന്റെ സംരക്ഷകനായിരുന്നുവത്രെ തികഞ്ഞ യോദ്ധാവായിരുന്ന പോക്കര്‍. ഉള്ളാളം ദേശത്തുനിന്ന് പാണത്തൂര്‍ കിഴക്കേ കോവിലകത്തെത്തിയ പോക്കര്‍ അതുവഴി മാലോം കൂലോത്തും കാര്യക്കാരനായെന്നാണ് വിശ്വാസം. നീതിമാനായ കാര്യക്കാരന്‍ മരണശേഷം തെയ്യങ്ങള്‍ക്കൊപ്പം ഇടംനേടി.
മാവിലന്‍ സമുദായക്കാര്‍ കെട്ടിയാടുന്ന ഈ തെയ്യം കാണാനാണ് മാലോം കൂലോത്തേക്കു ഏറെ ആളുകളെത്തിയത്. തെയ്യങ്ങളുടെ കൂടിപ്പിരിയലുമുണ്ടായി.
