Story Of Bhadrakali And Demon Shankhachuda

The story of Bhadrakali and demon Shankachood is found in the Devi Bhagavat (9/56). Demon Shankhachuda was creating havoc in the world and Goddess Bhadrakali engaged him in a battle. It became known from the voice from heaven that Shankachood could not be killed so long as he had ‘Samantraka’ – a divine mirror. Angered, Bhadrakali had desired to use Pashupatastra to kill him. Hearing that voice from heaven, she stopped and using her hunger swallowed more than hundred armies of the demons. While she was going to swallow Shankhachuda, he protected himself by the divine weapon, through which he started to expand himself. After fainting from the strokes of the arms of the Goddess, he regained consciousness and bowed to the Goddess, but did not accept his defeat. Shankachood later succumbed to Bhadrakali. Maa Parmeshwari Jayanti 2025 Date

Maa Parameshwari Jayanti is annually observed on Magh Shukla Paksha Panchami tithi by the Dewangan Samaj especially in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Maa Parmeshwari jayanti 2025 date is February 2. This is one of the most auspicious days dedicated to Maa Parmeshwari. On the day, Kalash yatrra and procession are held. Pampady Cheruvallikavu Devi Temple – Pooram Festival

Pampady Cheruvallikavu Devi temple is located at South Pampady in Kottayam district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy. The annual festival in the temple begins on Thiruvathira nakshatra. The festival is also known as Pampady Cheruvallikavu Pooram. Kudassanad Thirumani Mangalam Mahadeva Temple - Festival

Kudassanad Thirumani Mangalam Mahadeva temple is located near Pandalam in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu. The annual festival in the temple begins on Thiruvathira nakshatra day in Makaram month. This is a unique temple with two sreekovil and single chuttambalam. The shrine has two kodimaram or flagpost. Both the deities have equal importance. The annual festival in the temple is famous for Melam, caparisoned elephants, pujas and rituals. The shrine also observes Mahashivratri and Ramayana Masam.

Kattappana Sree Dharma Sastha Temple – Festival

Kattappana Sree Dharma Sastha temple is located at Ambala Kavala in Kattappana in Idukki district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Ayyappa or Sastha. Purathur Bhayankavu Bhagavathi Temple Thalappoli Festival – Pavakoothu

Purathur Bhayankavu Bhagavathi temple is located at Purathoor near Tirur in Malappuram district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi. The annual Thalappoli festival is observed in Kumbha Masam (February – March). Next important festival is the one held on Thula 1 (17th or 18th of October). Another important festival is the Makara Chowa, the first Tuesday in Makara Masam (the second fortnight of January). The Kala Vela festival is held in Makara Masam. Dwaparan In Hindu Religion

Dwaparan is believed to be the lord of Dwapara Yuga. The term Dwapara also has the meaning doubt. Yet another meaning is third. It is said that Dwaparan is a friend of Kali (as in Kali Yuga). They are friends because Dwapara Yuga and Kali Yuga are nearby. Shakuni is Mahabharata is an avatar of Dwaparan. After death, he merged in Dwaparan. There is no further information about Dwaparan in Puranas. In the story of Nala and Damayanti, Dwaparan is friend and helper of Kali. These two evil characters combine to create serious difficulties in the life of Nala. Due to them Nala experiences hell while living on earth. Dwaparan and Kali help Pushkara to defeat Nala in an already fixed dice game. Dwapara enters the dice game board and creates doubt in the mind of Nala. Dwaparan also takes the form of a bull and becomes a pawn for pushkara.

Ponkuzhi Sree Rama Temple – Festival - Thira - Vavu Bali

Ponkuzhi Sree Rama temple is located at Ponkuzhy on the Sulthan Bathery-Mysore road in Wayanad district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Bhagavan Sri Ram. The annual festival in the temple is held in Kumbham month (February) with flag hoisting or kodiyettam. The festival is famous of Thira ritual held on the night of Kumbha 8 (February 20 or 21). Kanadi Madam Tharavadu Temple Thira Vellattu Festival – Roopakkalam – Pattutsavam – Kuttichathan Temple

Kanadi Madam Tharavadu temple is located at Peringottukara in Thrissur district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Vishnumaya Swami Kuttichathan. The temple is a continuation of the ancient Kuttichathan worship in Kerala. The shrine is famous for its Thira Vellattu festival in Kumbha Masam (February 13 to 15) and Kalamezhuthum Pattum - Roopakkalam pattu festival in Mithunam 25 (July) and on Thulam 25 (November 10, 11). Paravur Puthiyidam Mahadeva temple is located at Paravur in Kollam district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Shiva. The annual 8-day festival begins on Thiruvathira nakshatra in Makaram month. This is a small Shiva temple with a Shivling in the sanctum sanctorum or sreekovil. There is a chuttambalam and upa devata shrines outside the main temple courtyard. Alanallur Ayyappankavu Temple – Festival

Alanallur Ayyappankavu temple is located at Alanallur, around 20 kms from Mannarkkad and Perinthalmanna, in Palakkad district, Kerala. The annual Thalappoli festival is held in Makaram month. The annual Pooram festival is famous for traditional temple art forms and melam. Alanallur Ayyappankavu temple is a small temple amidst natural surroundings and the shrine is dedicated to Ayyappa or Sastha. The temple also has upa devatas.
