Atul Krishna Goswami – Gaudiya Vaishnava Saint Of 19th Century From Bengal

Atul Krishna Goswami was born in 1868 CE at Shimuliya (near Kolkata in Bengal) in a Brahmin family. His parents arranged for him to study Hindu knowledge texts. He also learnt music. Atul Krishna Goswami took to a career in business in the 19th century but he was so spiritually inclined that he decided to adopt the life of an ascetic.  Atul Krishna Goswami was lucky to get into the company of saintly personalities such as Vasu Dev Maharaj, Mahatma Patal Harnath, Khandari Baba, Baba Ram Krishan Das of Vrindavan, Sachidanand Bal Krishan Vrajvala, Gavaria Baba of Vrindavan, and Shri Vijay Krishan Goswami among others. Sage Parashara, who is credited with the famous Parasara Samhita, is the father of Sage Veda Vyasa. The story of the birth of the Sage is very interesting.
