Baudhayana Dharmasutra

Baudhayana Dharmasutra is a Hindu religious text which contains the codes of conduct as laid down by Sage Baudhayana. The text is regarded as part of Baudhayana Kalpa. It comprises four Prashnas which are further divided into adhyayas. The last Prashna is distinguished from the first three on the basis of language, style and spirit. The fourth prashna mainly consists of verses, and some of its rules are repetitions and some others anomalous. It is thus a later addition. The tenth Adhyaya of this Prashna is almost identical with the nineteenth Adhyaya of Gautama Dharmasutra; one verse (III.1,1,24) seems to be a quotation from Manusmriti (V.109) and many expressions bear the imprint of a later date. Even the first two Prasnas contain interpolations. The fifth Adhyaya of the second Prashna refers to the nine planetary divinities (Navagrahas) and deities like Durga. Baudhayana, the author of this Dharmasutra as also of the Grihya Sutra, was the first teacher to attempt a systematic exp

Raghunath Besha Of Jagannath In Chaitra Month In Puri Temple

Raghunath Besha is observed in the month of Chaitra (March-April) in the famous Puri Jagannath temple. In this Besha, Bhagavan Shree Jagannatha is dressed like Sri Rama and holds a bow and an arrow. Lakshman, Bharat, Satrughna, Hanuman and other figures made out of sholapith and wooden twigs are displayed on the Ratna Singhasana. It is observed in remembrance of Sri Rama, who was born on the Shukla Paksha navami day in the Chaitra month. The besha thus coincides with Ramnavami festival. This Besha has been discontinued since last hundred years. The Raghunath besha of the deities was last held in the year 1805.

Many of our idols, icons, superstars, and mentors convey something in public but are different in real life. They convey to public happiness, positivity, good health, addiction free…they are sunshine …brilliant… They are paid for doing all this. But no one is aware of the murkiness and gloom in their life. Superstars are people who do not have freedom. They have surrendered their freedom. They have sold their freedom for money and fame. Their freedom of movement and speech is constantly monitored. Poor souls cannot even comment on anything in life. Even there casual talk might fetch them an FIR (a police case). Along with fame and fortune comes the fear of failure, fear of fading away from the limelight, fear of losing popularity…superstars are full of fears. This different types of fear make them depressed, low, weepy, unhappy, dejected, moody, suicidal and spiritless. These poor souls find it difficult to have a proper personal life as many times their screen and profess
