Banalinga Narmada River Story - Banalinga And Lord Shiva In Hinduism

Banalinga is a unique Shivling found in Narmada River in India with a number of striations formed by a natural process. Banalinga are Swayambhu – appeared naturally. Banalinga And Lord Shiva In Hinduism Legend has it that Banalinga appeared on earth when Shiva destroyed the Tripuri palaces of demons. The stones from the Tripuri that fell on  Narmada   River  turned into Banalinga. Banalinga Narmada River Story Banalinga is named after Demon Banasura as he was an ardent devotee of Shiva and Shiva blessed him with them. It is believed that Banasura who was doing austerities to please Shiva on the banks of  Narmada  collected the Lingas. As the Lingas were in the possession of Banasura it got the name. Another legend has it that Shiva appeared in the form of Linga before Banasura on the Narmada River bank and the pieces from the linga that flowed into the Narmada River are the Banalingas.

Ghanakarna – Deity Worshipped in Eastern Parts of India – Ghanu

Ghanakarna, or Ghanu, is a deity worshipped in eastern parts of India especially in 24 Parganas, Burdwan and Bankura districts of Bengal. He is believed to be an incarnation of Surya, the sun god. This is because he has curative powers against leprosy and other skin diseases. He is also believed to be a manifestation of Dharmathakur, a local deity. A legend has it that Lord Vishnu once cursed Ghanakarna. Therefore, he hates Vishnu. To avoid hearing Vishnu’s name, he hung two bells from his ears. Goddess Shivaduti - Information About Goddess Shivadooti

Shivaduti is a powerful manifestation of Mother Goddess Shakti. Shivaduti means one who has Shiva as her messenger. Goddess Shivaduti made her appearance in the battle against demons Shumbha and Nishumbha. She symbolically represents the unfathomable power of Mother Goddess Shakti.
