Ashtami Snan at Langalbandh in Bangladesh

Ashtami Snan is an annual festival held on the Chaitra Shukla Paksha Ashtami (ninth day during the waxing phase of moon in Chaitra Month) as per Hindu Lunar Calendar. The festival is mainly observed at Langalbandh in Bangladesh . In 2025, Ashtami Snan begins on April 5. The main ritual involves taking bath in the Brahmaputra River at Langalbandh in Narayanganj and other holy rivers associated with Hindu community in Bangladesh . Ashtami Snan is a 7-day festival and fair at Langalbandh.

Tarashtami – Ashtami dedicated to Goddess Tara

Tarashtami is dedicated to Goddess Tara and is observed on the eighth day during the Chatira and Ashwin Navratri. Tara Ashtami 2025 date during Chaitra Navratri is on April 5. Goddess Tara is one among the numerous forms of Goddess Shakti. Tarashtami is observed on the eighth day of the Shukla Paksha or waxing phase of moon in Chaitra and Ashwin month.
