Niranjani Sect

 The Niranjani sect is believed to have developed from Natha Pancha. It now exists in Odisha and western India. In his Bhakta Mala, Ragho Das has mentioned with great esteem the twelve Mahantas who had widely propagated this sect. They were – Laptayo Jagannathdasa, Shaymadasa, Nathdasa, Jagjivana, Tulasidasa, Anandadasa, Puranadasa, Mohanadasa, Haridasa, Kantharadasa, Dhyanadasa, and Khebhadasa. Among these, Haridasa and Tulasidasa are of great importance. Haridaa established the main center of propagation at Deedwana (Rajasthan) and wrote nine books, which are combined in “Shri Hari Puruas Ki Vani”. Tulasidasa composed 4,202 skahis, 461 padas and four other granthas. He was the greatest scholar of this sect. It is notable that Kashi Nagari Praharini Sabha has also discovered some poetic works of Tulasidasa in the form of manuscripts. Tattva Shekara Of Sri Pillai Lokacharya

Tattva Shekara is a work by Sri Pillai Lokacharya (1264 – 1327 CE) of Srirangam. Tattva Shekara reveals one of the eighteen secrets revealed by Sri Pillai Lokacharya, who is considered as the father of Thenkalai (Southern School) of Vaishnavism. His works are eighteen and collectively called Ashtadasa Rahasyams in Mani Pravala style. Tattva Shekara is counted as the tenth secret among the 18 secrets revealed by Sri Pillai Lokacharya. Tattva Shekara provides confirmation of the eternal truth that the Paramatma is the consort of Sri, as evidenced in Vedas and other works. Thakur Das – San Panth – Vaishnava Saint Who Was Killed But Came Back Alive

Thakur Das is a Vaishnava Saint of Uttar Pradesh and was founder of Sai Panth. He was once attacked and killed for teaching tenets of Hinduism to Hindus by Muslims but he came back alive. Thakur Das was born in Sambhal (Moradabad district, Uttar Pradesh) in a Brahmin family nearly 300 years ago. His father was a great Vaishnava saint of Ramanandi sect, who founded a center for the propagation of Vaishnavism at Paharpur (North West Frontier, Pakistan) with the object of protecting Hinduism. Later on, this center was shifted to Bakhar (West Punjab). Thakur das was nominated after death of his father to continue the spiritual activities and guide the Hindus of the region (only ten percent of the total population) who were ignorant of their religious canons. It is said that he regularly meditated outside Bakhar on the bank of a river. Some local Muslims could not tolerate his propagation of the tenets of Hinduism. Tattvartha Sutra, also known as Tattvartha Adhigama Sutra, is regarded as a primary religious text in Jainism. The text, as well as its author, Umasvati, also known as Umaswami, has gained great recognition from all sects of the Jain community. Tattva Vaisharadi By Vacaspati Mishra

Tattva Vaisharadi is an elaborate and most important commentary on Yoga Bhashya (also known as Samkhya Pravachana Bhashya) of Vyasa by Vacaspati Mishra. Vachaspati Mishra is assigned to 900 CE (not unanimously accepted). The identity of the author Vyasa is uncertain. According to some, he is the same Krishnadvaipayana Veda Vyasa who wrote the Mahabharata. According to others, he is a great yogi, possibility belonging to the 4 th – 5 th century BCE. The commentary is the oldest among the commentaries on Yoga Bhashya. The commentator appears not to follow any other commentary on this work. It can be taken as a work on both Yoga and Samkhya, since Yoga is considered a part of the latter. This commentary is very useful inasmuch as it supplies various readings of Yogabhashya. In many places, opinions of the philosophers belong to other schools, like Vainasikas, Vijnanavadins, and Nastikas, have been referred to, which help us in the better understanding of our author’s standpoint. The story of giloy plant in Hindu religion is from the regional versions of the epic Ramayana. In the fierce battle between Bhagavan Sri Rama and demon Ravana, numerous Vanaras or the members of the monkey army was killed. Finally, Ravana was annihilated by Sri Rama. Indra, the king of Devas, was unhappy to see so many monkeys lying dead in the battlefield. He sprayed elixir of life or amrita on the dead monkeys. All the dead members of the vanarasena (monkey army) came back to life. A few drops the amrita fell on the earth, and wherever these drops fell amrita plants sprang up. For this reason, the plant is known as Amrita in Sanskrit. It is also held auspicious. The plant is used in the cure of jaundice, fever,skin diseases, venereal diseases, dysentery, swollen joints and muscles, and diabetes. Stem of the plant cures venomous snake bites and insect stings. A necklace made from small pieces of the plant is worn around the neck as cure for jaundice.

Goddess Hiranmayi In Hinduism

Goddess Hiranmayi, in Hinduism, is one among the names of Goddess Lakshmi or Sri. She is the goddess of abundance and consort of Bhagavan Vishnu. In this form she is the connecting link between individual souls and god. The individual souls are chetana and god is Ishwara or Paramatma.
