Food Served At Shirdi Sai Baba Temple – Kitchen Details

Shirdi Sai Baba loved serving food to his devotees. The Shirdi Sai Baba Trust keeps the tradition alive by providing free food all people visiting the temple. The menu includes chapati, rice and curry, two vegetarian dishes and dessert. Ladoo (a sweet given as prasadam to devotees) and sweet boondi (a sweet made of besan flour, deep fried in ghee, with a sprinkling of cashew nuts and raisins) are given free to devotees. The kitchen at Shirdi Sai Baba temple is one of the largest in the world and serves food to nearly a million people every month. The kitchen maintains high food hygiene standards. Water is treated in the reverse osmosis method. The kitchen functions from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. It is considered the biggest of its kind in Asia. On an average, 40,000 people have food in the kitchen daily. The numbers go up to more than 100,000 during holidays and festivals. The Sringeri Sharada Peetham at Sringeri in Karnataka runs a chain of institutions to teach the Vedas and Sanskrit. Sri Sadvidya Sanjeevini Samskrutha Mahapatashala at Sringeri was established for the purpose in 1895. The institution is rated as one of the top Vedic Schools in the country. Students are admitted into the Maha Patashala at the age of eight after their Upanayana (initiation ceremony). They undergo rigorous training in mula pata (basic study of Vedas), pada pata, karma pata and ghana pata. It takes five years to complete the Mula pata, two years to do the Pada Pata and another two years to do the Krama Pata. The Ghana Pata, the highest qualification, has more academic value that a Ph.D. It takes at least 11 years to complete the Ghana pata. Story Of Leprosy Curse On Samba Son Of Sri Krishna In Sarala Mahabharata

The Sarala Mahabharata of Odisha gives prominence to Sun worship and Bhagavan Surya appears in many incidents in the popular Odia version of the Mahabharata. There is an interesting story of Adoni Nawab and Guru Raghavendra Swamy and the story shows the greatness of Guru. Governor of Adoni, Nawab Siddi Masud Khan, a deputy under the Sultan of Bijapur, Ibrahim Adil Shah II, who had a high regard for Sri Raghavendra Swamy, wanted to test whether Guru possessed powers to enact miracles and was qualified for the title of Jagadguru conferred upon him by the Sultan. Inspired by the scholarly wisdom of Sri Raghavendra Swamy and his mastery over the Vedas and other religious text, the Sultan of Bijapur, Ibrahim Adil Shah II conferred the title ‘Jagadguru’ on the Guru and presented him with a white regal umbrella that only kinds and emperors were allowed to have. Kageshvar Mahadev temple, also known as Kageshwor, is located at Durbar square in Kathmandu, Nepal. The shrine is dedicated to Shiva. The temple was damaged during the 1934 earthquake. A Shivling is worshipped in the sanctum sanctorum. Shivratri is the most important festival in the temple. The temple was built for Queen Bhuvanalakshmi in 1711 and was also known as Bhuvanalaksmesvara. The present temple is white shikhara style temple. But historians are of the view that the original temple must have been a two or three tier pagoda style temple with two or three roofs. The temple is noted for its wooden and stone sculptors. Kathmandu Kotilingeshwar Mahadev temple is located at Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square in Kathmandu, Nepal. The shrine is dedicated to Shiva. Nama Siddhanta – Theory Repeating The Name Of God In Hinduism

Nama Siddhanta is the theory relating to the recitation of the names of God in Hinduism. It stresses the value of repeating/singing different names of God as part of the devotional path to moksha or salvation. The concept is traced to the Rig Veda. A distinct school of thought, known as the ‘Nama-Siddhanta-Sampradaya”, emerged in Tamil Nadu at the end of the 17th and the beginning of the 18th century. Kathmandu Lakshmi Narayana Temple – Nepal

Kathmandu Lakshmi Narayana Temple is located at Durbar Square in Kathmandu, Nepal. The shrine is dedicated to the Lakshmi Narayana form of Bhagavan Vishnu. The two-storied temple in pagoda style with two roofs was built by Pratap Malla (1641-74 CE). The sanctum sanctorum has a murti of Bhagavan Vishnu along with Goddess Lakshmi. The shrine was damaged during the 2015 earthquake. It has been reinforced with hidden steel rods. The wood work in the temple is noted for its beautiful intricate carvings.
