Chaitra Month Name – Origin Of Chaitra Mahina

Ever wondered about the origin of the name Chaitra. Chaitra Mahina (March - April) is the first month in a traditional Hindu lunar calendar followed in North India, Maharashtra, Telangana, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Harshat Mata Temple, Abhaneri, Rajasthan Ancient Hindus had a deep knowledge of Nakshatras or stars, movements of moon and earth, changes of seasons and of time.
