Banjar lies on the banks of the Tirthan River, one of the largest and most beautiful tributaries of the Beas River.

The wooden temple has several stone and brass images and it is believed that the Rishi himself comes here every May, when a grand fair is organized and Gurs communicate with the Rishi.
