Soundarya Lakshmi – About Hindu Goddess Of Beauty

In Hinduism, Soundarya Lakshmi is a form of Goddess Lakshmi. In this form Lakshmi, is the Goddess of beauty.  Puranas indicate that Soundarya Lakshmi had turned an average looking Rati, Brahma’s daughter, to the most beautiful woman in the three worlds.  It is believed that Rati and her husband, Manmatha, god of love, worships Soundarya Lakshmi. What does Mukunda mean? - Lord Vishnu Mukunda Form

Mukunda is one among the 1008 names of Lord Vishnu. Mukunda means ‘liberator.’ As Mukund or Mukunda, Lord Vishnu saves a devotee from the endless cycle of birth and death and blesses him with Moksha. Mukunda also means passionless as per some scholars. This means that he is devoid of all the Gunas.  A dhyana sloka in Vishnu Sahasranama reads like this -  May Mukunda, with the discus, mace, conch and lotus in His hands, purify us Today Mukunda is also a term used to refer to Krishna Avatar of Vishnu. 'Jaya Krishna Mukunda Murare' a famous prayer in Hinduism was  sung by Sage Narada, praising Lord Vishnu. Simhastha Associated With Godavari River In Hinduism

Simhastha is a very holy occasion in Hinduism. It occurs when Navagraha Guru or Brihaspati (planet Jupiter) enters Simha Rashi (zodiac sign Leo) in Hindu astrology. As Guru takes about twelve years to complete one full rotation around Surya (sun), it passes through all twelve rashis in twelve years. Its transit through Simha Rashi takes place periodically after every twelve years. Puranas state that when Brihaspati graham is in Simha Rashi, the holy gana is deemed to flow into Godavari River in a hidden form. When Simhastha takes place, it is presumed that all the gods and goddesses in Hindu pantheon take holy dip in the Godavari River. It is also believed that the holiness of all the sacred places and teerths in the world join in Godavari during the period. Therefore it is believed that taking a holy dip Godavari River during the period will help in achieving sin redemption, moksha and fulfillment of desires. Asvalayana Rishi In Rig Veda - Asvalayana Shakha

Asvalayana Rishi was an authority on ritualistic practices and the propounder of one of the branches of Rig Vedic School called Asvalayana School. Asvalayana Shakha was popular in the present day Maharashtra region but samhita and Brahmana texts are not available now. According to some scholars, Asvalayana Rishi was the priest of King Janaka of Videha. He was considered to be the disciple of Shaunaka, as is inferred from the colophon of his text by way of respect to this guru: nama Shaunakaya. Asvalayana is considered to a contemporary of Panini – the famous Grammarian of ancient Hindu world. Some India scholars like C. V. Vaidya have accepted his time to be the 1 st century BC. Lord Surya is the sun god in Hinduism. Important scriptures and mythology associated with Hindu religion contains several depiction of Lord Surya riding seven horses. Ashutosh Mukherjee (28 June 1864 – 25 May 1924) was an eminent judge, mathematician and educationist from Calcutta (now Kolkata). This is a short essay on Ashutosh Mukherjee.
