Chendamangalam Venugopla Krishna Swamy – Festival

Chendamangalam Venugopla Krishna Swamy is located at Chennamangalam near North Paravur in Ernakulam district in Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Venugopla Krishna Swamy form of Bhagavan Sri Krishna. The annual festival in the temple is held in Vaishakha Masam (April – May). The shrine belongs to the Gaud Saraswat Brahmins (GSB). The upa devatas worshipped in the temple are Ganapathy, Raja Gopala Swamy, Rukmini and Satyabhama. The temple has a nalambalam, namaskara mandapam and chathura sreekovil. The six-day annual festival in the temple concludes with arattu ceremony on Rohini Nakshatra day in Vaisakha month. Traditional Vaishnava rituals associated with GSB community are held during the annual festival.

Madavoor Mahadeva Temple – Festival

Madavoor Mahadeva temple is located on the Kilimanoor-Madavoor road at Madavoor in Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Mahadeva – Shiva. The annual 7-day festival in the temple is held in Malayalam Medam Masam (April – May). The upa devatas worshipped in the temple are Vishnu Bhagavan, Ganapati, Goddess Devi and Nagas (serpents). This is a beautiful Kerala temple is located amidst paddy fields. This is a traditional Kerala style temple with a kodimaram, chathura sreekovil, chuttambalam, namaskara mandapam and shrines of upa devatas. The shrine observes Mahashivratri, Thiruvathira in Dhanu Masam and Pradosha Vratam. The annual festival in the temple is famous for ezhunnallathu, caparisoned elephants, melam and Shaiva pujas and rituals.

Mangalam Moonunnikkavu Temple – Festival

Mangalam Moonunnikkavu temple ( മംഗലം   മൂന്നുണ്ണിക്കാവ്   ) is located at Lakkidi in Palakkad district, Kerala. The annual pratishta festival in the temple is held in Malayalam Meda Masam (April – May). The annual festival coincides with the pratishta festival. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy. The annual festival in the temple is noted for nadaswaram and tholpavakoothu. The annual festival commences with kodiyettam and concludes with the arattu procession. This is a small temple with a chathura sreekovil and shrines of upa devatas.

Piravom Kakkad Purushamangalam Temple – Festival

Piravom Kakkad Purushamangalam temple is located at Kakkad near Piravom in Ernakulam district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Bhagavan Sri Krishna. The 6-day annual festival in the temple is held in Malayalam Meda Masam (April – May). This is a small traditional temple with a chuttambalam, pond, namaskara mandapam and east facing chathura sreekovil. There are small shrines of upa devatas. The sankalpam of Sri Krishna here is that of his Viswaroopa as shown to Arjuna before Kurukshetra war in the Mahabharata and described in the Bhagavad Gita. Vishwaroopa Darshanam of Bhagwan Vishnu is performed on the main murti in the sreekovil in Dhanu Masam – from Dhanu 1 to Dhanu 18 (December 16 to January 2). Spiritual Antenna To Awaken Our Sixth Sense

The knowledge as the inner light is latent in all of us. But it is lost in the chaos of our worldly life.
