Parsava Parivartini Ekadasi September 2023 - Importance - Mantra - Jayanti Ekadashi - Parivartini Ekadasi

Parsava Parivartini Ekadasi, also known as Vamana Ekadasi or Padma Ekadasi, is one among the numerous names of the Ekadashi fasting observed on the 11th day of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of moon) in Bhadrapad month (August – September). Parsava Parivartini Ekadasi 2023 date is September 25. It is called Parsava Parivartini because Lord Vishnu who is sleeping during the Dakshinayana period turns from left side to right side. This Ekadasi is also known as Jayanti Ekadashi. Bhadrapad or Bhadra month falls during the Dakshinayana Punyakalam and is also the second month in during the Chaturmas period. Popular belief is that the period of Dakshinayana is the night time of Gods. Lord Vishnu is believed to be sleeping during the period. Parivartini Ekadasi Mantra ॐ वैष्ण - वर्क्ष - विभूषणाय नमः॥ Om Vaishnav Varsha Vibhushanaya Namah The Vamana Avatar of Lord Vishnu is believed to have appeared on this day. This Ekadasi is also therefore known as Vaman Ekadasi.

Vengara Tali Temple – Shiva Kshetram

Vengara Tali temple is dedicated to Shiva and is located at Vengara in Malappuram district, Kerala. The temple is one among the 18 Tali kshetrams of ancient Kerala. The main deity Shiva is worshipped in the form of Shivling and is a big peeda prathishta. The shrine has a square shaped two tier sanctum sanctorum – chatura sreekovil. The darshanam of Vengara Tali temple is towards east. The Upa Devatas worshipped in the temple are Ganapathy, Dakshinamurti, Sastha and Goddess Bhagavathi. The temple remained closed for several years. In 2001, the shrine was taken up by Sri Tali Siva Temple Paripalana Committee formed by local people. The important festivals in the temple are Shivratri, Navratri and Mandala Kalam. The Ayyappan Vilakku held here is famous in the region.

Vedakkaad Temple –Facts – Two Sreekovil

Vedakkaad Bhagavathy Temple is located at Porkulam in Thrissur district, Kerala. The temple is one among the 108 Durga temples in Kerala. The temple is referred to as ‘Rinanarayanam’ in Durga Stotra Namavali which narrates about the 108 Durga temples. Vedakkaad temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga and Goddess Karthiyayini. The temple here has two Sreekovil (Sanctum Sanctorum). The murti of Goddess Karthiyayini, as per some the Goddess is Mahishasuramardini, is swayambhu (self-manifested) form. The most important festival here is the 9-day Navratri festival (September – October). There is no separate annual festival in the temple. The Upa Devatas worshipped in the temple are Ganapathy, Ayyappan, Bhadrakali and Shiva. The administration of the temple is managed by committee of local people.
