Pataleshwara Temple at Talakad – Shivling Worshipped Here Changes Color

Pataleshwara Temple at Talakad in Karnataka is one of the Panchalinga Temples. The unique feature of the Shivling worshipped in the temple is that it changes color three times a day.


The Shivling is red in color in the morning; black in the afternoon and white in the evening.

Pataleshwara Temple is also known as Vasukishwara Temple.

It is widely believed that Snake Vasuki worshipped Shiva at the temple.
