Hindu Temple at Ghana in Africa

This HinduTemple located at Accra in Ghana is not one founded by Hindus from India but by indigenous Africans. Ghana's first indigenous AfricanHinduTemple was established by Swami Ghanananda Saraswati. Swami Ghanananda was born in a village in Ghana. It was his quest to find answers to mysteries of nature and life that brought him closer to Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism).Today, the HinduTemple at Ghana serves more than fifty families who practice Hinduism along with native Ghanaian faith and Christianity. As Hinduism is not a missionary religion there is no conversion and people of all faith come to the temple to find peace and solace. Ulto Rath 2012 Date – The Return Journey of Puri Jagannath Rath Yatra

Ulto Rath, popularly known as Bahuda Yatra, is the return journey of the Puri Jagannath Rath Yatra chariots from the GundichaTemple after eight days. Ulto Rath 2012 date is June 29. During the Ulto Rath, the chariots of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, Subhadra make a stop at the MausimaTemple.

Mausima temple is dedicated to the aunt of Lord Jagannath and three deities are offered ‘poda pitha’, a special sweet made of rice, coconut, lentils and jaggery.
