Story Of Sage Raikva In Chandogya Upanishad

Story of Sage Raikva occurs in Chandogya Upanishad (IV – 1). His meeting with King Janashruti and the conversation is of great importance. King Janashruti was famous for his generosity and took pride in the fact. Once the king was resting on the terrace of his palace and he overheard the conversation between two flamingos. Goddess Nilakanthi is one among the numerous manifestations of Goddess Durga. She is counted one among the nine durgas in the Agamas. Goddess Nilakanthi is the bestower of wealth and happiness to her devotees. Goddess Nilakanthi is depicted as having four arms. She holds trishul, khetaka and a drinking vessel.
