Vishwakarma – Information about Hindu God Biswakarma - Stories of Vishwakarma

Hindu God Vishwakarma, also known as Biswakarma, finds mention in the Rig Veda and this gives us an idea about His antiquity. He is the divine architect of the whole universe. There are numerous stories in Hindu scriptures in which Biswakarma is directly and indirectly involved. He is the son of Brahma and all the important weapons and palaces mentioned in Hindu scriptures were designed and constructed by Vishwakarma. There are numerous temples spread across India that are believed to have been constructed by Vishwakarma. The word Vishwakarma implies that only Karm in this world (Vishwa) is first and foremost thing – Karm Pradhan Biswa Kari Rakha. Vishwakarma in Rig Veda Vishwakarma himself chose to be the Havis in a Yajna held to create the Universe (Rigveda 10.81.6). Thus he was raised to the status of a Deva. Vindhyachal Navratri Mela at the Vindhyavasini Temple

Vindhyachal Navratri Mela held during the Chaitra Navratri (March – April) and Ashwin Navratri (September – October) attracts millions of devotees. Vindhyachal Chaitra Navratri Mela is from April 9 to April 17, 2024. Ashwin Navratri mela is from October 3 to October 12, 2024. Vindhyavasini Devi Temple is located in Vindhyachal, 8 km from Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh, on the banks of River Ganga. It is one of the most sacred temples dedicated to Goddess Shakti and the presiding deity is Vindhyavasini Devi. During the Navratri Mela special pujas are held at the temple. The presiding deity in the temple is adorned in different forms. The popular belief is that darshan of Maa Vindhyavasini during Navratri is highly meritorious. It is also believed that the Goddess is in a happy mood during the period and fulfills the desires of devotees.
